I've tried more productivity systems than I can count, but too often the system became the work: sorting, configuring, and maintaining everything instead of moving the things that mattered forward.

Beam started as a way for me to manage my own projects and tasks. I wanted something fast, simple, and private that felt at home on the devices I use. That's why I chose to build Beam natively, so I can make the most of the platform with smooth animations, thoughtful transitions, and deeper system integrations.

I also wanted something I could trust with my own work. Beam is offline-first, with your data stored locally. Nothing is collected and no account sign up is needed. When you do want your projects and tasks across devices, iCloud keeps everything in sync seamlessly. Privacy matters a lot to me personally, and I wouldn't want to ask people using Beam to accept something I wouldn't be comfortable with myself.

What started as something I was building for myself grew as I shared it with others and realized they were looking for many of the same things too.
